Impacting the World - Supporting Migrants and Asylum-Seekers
Hive Group is actively supporting the migrants and asylum-seekers at Riverton Park United Methodist Church. This location is currently helping around 250-300 migrants mostly Africans and Latin Americans, providing shelter, clothing, and food while helping them process asylum.
We were able to collect over $4,000 in cash donations the last week of February and more was donated directly on the church’s website.
Our collected donations helped with:
- Needed repairs on bathroom and kitchen water fixtures.
- Provided more access to cold and hot water for drinking and food preparation.
- Repairs to improve air circulation in the kitchen areas.
- Food and hygiene supplies
- Cooking supplies and portable electric stoves
- Other weekly urgent needs
The center is constantly in need of supplies and volunteer work.
If you are interested in donating, you can do so directly on this site: Donate (rivertonparkumc.com), please indicate in the Notes section For asylum/migrant needs if you want your donation to be assigned specifically to this program.
If you are interested in volunteer work, please contact us directly andreina@hivegr.com, using Volunteer work for migrants in the subject line and we will reach out and guide you to the most urgent needs (tutoring, Case Management, Asylum Documentation & Legal Help, General Building Maintenance, housing placement, and other).
Finally, we are looking for rental properties to allocate some of the immigrants if you know of landlords interested in supporting please connect us with them. Please share this blog post with your network.
Thanks for your support!
