Impacting the World – Supporting Nature Conservation in Venezuela
Venezuela is a megadiverse country, with a wide variety of flora and fauna across diverse landscapes from the paramos of the Andes to the plain savannas in the Llanos, the Amazon, and a vast coastline. However, many species and ecosystems are threatened mainly by human activities, causing negative impacts irreversible for many of them.
Akehe (Red Venezolana de Profesionales por la Naturaleza) is a network of young professionals working to conserve Venezuela's biodiversity across diverse ecoregions of the country. This network seeks to break down all the barriers caused by the political and social crisis in the country, changing direction in the way of doing research, education, and conservation to achieve a positive impact on the preservation of biodiversity on a national scale and as a replicable model in other countries.
We at Hive Group are also committed to sustainability and environmental protection. Honoring our Venezuelan roots, Hive Group has joined forces with Akehe to support its work in Venezuela, mainly to:
- Develop the capacities of novel conservation professionals.
- Promote research, education, and action projects.
- Increase the visibility of the conservation actions and the people who drive them.
